I Told You I Was Behind!

First let me remind you of the pattern giveaway. Leave a comment on the previous post and I will draw a winner tomorrow.

Next I would like to show you a few of the gifts that I made for Christmas. I know, I know, it is almost Easter and I am just showing Christmas gifts from last year. I told you!!
This is a pattern from Crab- Apple Hill. I enjoyed doing this stitchery. It went fairly fast and I used the floss that it called for. I made this for my friend Colleen. She moved into her new home last year. She is a Fall person and loves the colors of fall. I know she will love the fabrics.

I have not finished it completely as we have not exchanged our gifts yet. (waaay behind!) I was not sure if she would like it made up as a pillow or a wall hanging. This is the fabric I have chosen to finish it however she would like.

I also did another stitchery for her. It is also from Crab-Apple Hill. I did three of these for gifts. I chose to stitch Let It Snow on the ones that I did. Living here in the North Country we can leave it out nine months of the year. There were other choices to chose from. One was Merry Christmas and another ( I think) was The Smiths.

I didn't finish my pillow like the pattern. Although I liked the way they finished theirs . I inserted some ribbon on the front and back and tied them in bows. I was very happy with them when they were finished.

I also made some block protector rolls. I made some for Debbie(applique) D. no blog. I also made some for myself. I love them and they were so easy to make. When you have completed a block, you untie your ribbon and unroll the roll. Place your block inside roll it up, tie it and it is safe from the light and dirty little fingers. You can keep them in one place. Maybe you are more organized that I am. They sure help me!!

This block is a stitchery from Buttermilk Basin. I will show more of these blocks soon. I am off now to fix dinner. Have a great evening. I will chat soon.

Pat, I love all your stitcheries, just gorgeous. I'm sure your friend will be very happy, no matter how you choose to finish it off. Good idea with the block roll.

I love the embroidery pieces. Do you have a U.S. source for your Australian patterns? I really love the pumpkin piece...Incredibly sweet.... The roll is a great idea. I love you to share the instructions...

I am partial to the pumpkin :-)

I stitched up the pumpkin one too. And then put it away and promptly forgot about it. Until the other day when I got into the bag I use for handwork and, by golly!, there it was all layered and basted and ready for quilting. Must get to that. Love all your stitcheries.

Love your pumpkin stitchery - Your roll is much better than mine I have my stitcheries rolled around a cardboard roll wrapped in an old cloth nappy perhaps I should follow your lead.

Your stitchery gifts you made are so pretty, I especially like the pumpkin! I don't think I have seen that pattern anywhere?

The block protectors are great! Is the inside a terry cloth type material to help hold it in place or is that cotton?
