I have had my "Wynter Peacocks" Sewing Pouch finished for a while now. It is the first project from the Ladies Prim Society. It is by Threadwork Primitive for Dyeing to Stitch. It was a fun and fast project. I loved everything about this kit. The stitching fabric, the floss colors, finishing fabrics and the directions.
A peek at the inside.
I love those little x's around the seams but I can never get them to look right.
This is the first time that I have joined a club and have had my project finished before the next one has arrived. What a good feeling. I want to try and keep up with the other Prim Ladies. I am excited to see the next project. I hope it comes soon.
I have been stitching on WTNAT Strawberry Hill Sewing Box. I stitch on it on Tuesdays stitching with the Loose Threads. The name of our group could not be more appropriate. We always have a great time. I like every part of this pattern and want to stitch them all. I love the colors. I am using the floss and fabric called for in the pattern. My stitching at home is mostly for Christmas.
In an earlier post I mentioned that I had made little pillows for my friends for Valentine's day. Well here it is. I am not sure where I got this pattern as I have had it for awhile. It looks like I ripped it from a magazine. If anyone knows its origin I will give credit in a later post.
When I saw the releases from the 2013 Nashville Market I had to have this pattern (along with many more). It is "Spring Flowers" by Stacy Nash. I ordered it right away from The Strawberry Sampler and it was here in no time. I may even get this piece finished for Easter. Isn't that the cutest bunny?
Lastly is a picture of a pincushion I made for Margaret that I forgot to take a picture of before I mailed it. Margaret was kind enough to send me a picture. Thank you again, Margaret. It is a pattern by Priscilla's Pocket.
Well, I think that is enough for tonight. It is time for American Idol. I don't know who she will be... but I know it will be a lady winner this year. Have a great weekend everyone. I'll be back soon.
My friend Margaret had a birthday quite some time ago. I was very late in sending her gifts off to her. I don't think that I have ever had her birthday gift to her on time. There was one time that I might have but the package decided to take a side trip and it was unaccounted for for a couple of months. She has her gifts now. I never took a picture of the gifts before I mailed them off. Margaret took pictures and sent them to me today. Now I can show you what I made. First is a pincushion from JABC. It came as a kit. The directions were great and it was very easy to hand stitch together. I enjoyed making the acorn and was very pleased with it finished. Thank you so much Margaret for the pictures.
Next I stitched Aunt Lucy's Button Box by Crab-apple Hill. I used the called for Cosmo over dyed floss. I like the Cosmo floss very much but I find that the sections of colors are quite long between color changes. The floss is wonderful to work with though.
Here is a close up of the fabric, floss and buttons.
This small cross stitch is by Olde Colonial Designs. It was a fee pattern if you bought a small wooden oval frame. I like the lace flower and the lady bug button. I also liked this small black frame from Michael's.
I made gifts for another March birthday. Again I did not take pictures. Tomorrow is my stitching day with friends so I will take photos tomorrow and post them soon. Margaret has one more photo to send. Daylight got away from her today. When she is able she will send it along and I will post it at another time.
Day one of DST and I am exhausted already. It is hard to believe that one hour can make so much difference to our body's schedule. I enjoy the extra sunshine but we didn't have it today. It is very overcast here and rain is on the way.
I have some stitching progress to show and some I can't because I am working on Christmas. I hope that you enjoy your day tomorrow as much as I will. I will be stitching away with friends. Tuesday...my favorite day of the week!
Margaret, I hope that you had a wonderful birthday. Enjoy your gifts. Again, I am sorry that it was so late. As soon as my order arrives I will get your HAG off to you!!!
I am married with one husband, two children, one daughter-in-law,two grandchildren, and two granddogs. I live in a small city in upstate NY near the Adirondacks. I love my family and friends and enjoy all things done with needle and thread.
