And The Winner Is...

I am sorry that this post is so late. I had every intention of posting the winner on Thursday. Sometimes family just gets in the way!

Leanne is the winner of the table runner pattern by Pieces From My Heart. Keep an eye on her blog and maybe she will pass the pattern on when she is finished with it. It is a simple pattern and once you do it I think that you will remember how. I took a couple of notes and the rest is in my head. ( OM Gosh Leanne I may be calling you.) Just kidding!

Leanne if you will send me your address I will get this pattern off to you. Thanks to everyone who left a comment. I will have another pattern give away soon.

I received my PIF today from Hanne in Norway. I will post a picture of it tomorrow. My PIFs are already to go out in the mail on Monday. I will show pictures after they have been received. Have a great evening. I will chat later.

I Told You I Was Behind!

First let me remind you of the pattern giveaway. Leave a comment on the previous post and I will draw a winner tomorrow.

Next I would like to show you a few of the gifts that I made for Christmas. I know, I know, it is almost Easter and I am just showing Christmas gifts from last year. I told you!!
This is a pattern from Crab- Apple Hill. I enjoyed doing this stitchery. It went fairly fast and I used the floss that it called for. I made this for my friend Colleen. She moved into her new home last year. She is a Fall person and loves the colors of fall. I know she will love the fabrics.

I have not finished it completely as we have not exchanged our gifts yet. (waaay behind!) I was not sure if she would like it made up as a pillow or a wall hanging. This is the fabric I have chosen to finish it however she would like.

I also did another stitchery for her. It is also from Crab-Apple Hill. I did three of these for gifts. I chose to stitch Let It Snow on the ones that I did. Living here in the North Country we can leave it out nine months of the year. There were other choices to chose from. One was Merry Christmas and another ( I think) was The Smiths.

I didn't finish my pillow like the pattern. Although I liked the way they finished theirs . I inserted some ribbon on the front and back and tied them in bows. I was very happy with them when they were finished.

I also made some block protector rolls. I made some for Debbie(applique) D. no blog. I also made some for myself. I love them and they were so easy to make. When you have completed a block, you untie your ribbon and unroll the roll. Place your block inside roll it up, tie it and it is safe from the light and dirty little fingers. You can keep them in one place. Maybe you are more organized that I am. They sure help me!!

This block is a stitchery from Buttermilk Basin. I will show more of these blocks soon. I am off now to fix dinner. Have a great evening. I will chat soon.

So Far Behind!

I am so far behind that I may never catch up! At Christmas I saw a lovely table runner on Deb's blog. I commented on it and asked for the name of the pattern. Deb was very kind to answer me and offered to send me the pattern. A few days later I received the pattern in the mail. (Thanks again Deb)! I right away ordered the charms to make the runner for Christmas. I also ordered charms for a runner for Valentines Day.

And this is where I am now! But I WILL have both of these runners ready for next year. The pattern is a simple pattern and all I have left to do is sew them together. Deb and I both agreed that the pattern should be passed on. So if anyone would like the pattern leave a comment before Wednesday night and I will draw a name on Thursday and get the pattern off to you. I hope that everyone has a great day. I will chat later.

Pincushions, Pincushions,Pincushions!

Several of you have been posting pictures of your pincushions. I have a few I would like to show. I can't pick a favorite as I love them all. Some I made, some were made for me and some I purchased.

The Lady Bug was given to me last Christmas as a gift from my friend Debbie( applique) D. no blog. She does beautiful work!!! I love lady bugs. Here is a picture of it opened. She did the cross stitch and made the little pincushion inside. The cross stitch is a needle holder.

Carey, while cleaning found three copies of The Pincushion book by Lynette Anderson. Carey is having a give away of all three of the books. Visit both of them to enter in the giveaway.

Because no one can have too many pincushions ...

I want to make this one In the Spring issue of Quilts and More. It is by designer Anna Maria Horner. I was unable to get her fabric locally, but I was able to get this fun fabric at my LQS. I hope everyone has a great day. Will chat soon.
